July Ends on a Positive Note – July 27 – 31, 2013

Before the lightning began Wednesday afternoon all the trusses erected and aligned. On Saturday work continued on the roof with installation of the gable outlooks, sub-fascia, fascia and the majority of the roof decking.

As Summer Moves Along So Does the Work – July 24 – 27, 2013

The dry wall work, taping and texturing, was finished during the week. This allowed priming and painting to take place on Saturday. Before the lightning began Wednesday afternoon the trusses were moved from the truck to the house walls and erected. The work continued Saturday with construction of the gable outlooks, application of the sub-fascia. and the laying of the majority of the roof decking.

Saturday, lots of volunteers were ready and willing and work proceeded at a rapid pace.  All the necessary OSB exterior sheathing was completed, the second top plates added for the entire house and finally scaffolding was placed so that truss work could begin on July 24.

On Wednesday everything was wrapped up for the framing inspection. On Saturday the house was ready to go for drywall. With the help of a sizeable and effective crew, most of the ceiling rock was hung and a good start was made on the non-insulated interior walls.

Due to a smaller crew and focus on work needed elsewhere Wednesday, we were only able to get one day of work in on this house. Making up for some lost time, plates were cut and then laid out to facilitate the building of the walls to be built on Saturday.
