In June 2019, Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity became a Veteran Build Affiliate. This means our program provides volunteer and homeownership opportunities to veterans, military service members and their families.
The Honor and Remember House recognizes the legacy of those who bravely and selflessly serve. Veterans and veteran groups are invited to help build this home!
In June 2019, Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity became a Veteran Build Affiliate. Over 120 Habitat affiliates take part in the program and over 100 veteran support organizations partner with Habitat to meet veterans’ needs.
As a Veteran Build affiliate Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity has made a commitment to positively impact and engage our local military and veteran community, as well as to:
- Increase applications from low-income veterans for Habitat homeownership and home repairs
- Increase volunteerism by veterans in ReStore and on the construction site, and
- Include veterans on Habitat’s Board of Directors and Committees.
In March 2020, Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity dedicated the Honor and Remember House to those who bravely and selflessly serve.
