Thank you Pat for being a champion of Habitat’s mission
We are delighted to honor Pat Nie with a special award for her longstanding leadership and commitment to affordable home-ownership in Albuquerque’s low-income communities.

She is a champion of our mission to build community – one home, one family at a time. “Pat is a true friend to Habitat. She is always searching for ways to help, whether with grant opportunities, volunteer involvement or helping connect agencies and encouraging collaboration,” said Joan Costello, Executive Director for Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity. “Her work with Wells Fargo and her personal philanthropy are part of her being and personal ethic in addressing financial literacy and serving the needs of low-income families in Albuquerque. She is well known and highly respected throughout our community and her commitment is exemplary. We are proud to honor Pat for who she is and her numerous accomplishments.”
More than just Habitat
Pat’s work in the community and her commitment to helping others extends far beyond her involvement with Habitat. She currently serves as the Chair of the City of Albuquerque’s Affordable Housing Committee, co-chairs the Albuquerque Money Smart planning group and she serves or has served on the board of various nonprofit organizations including The Housing Trust (Santa Fe), Albuquerque Affordable Housing Coalition, Sawmill Community Land Trust, New Mexico Project for Financial Literacy, and the New Mexico Chapter of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by Habitat for Humanity here in Albuquerque. I enjoy my relationships with the Habitat staff and supporting the great work the organization does around home-ownership and financial capability for your clients.” said Pat Nie, Vice President/Community Relations Senior Consultant for New Mexico with the Wells Fargo Corporate Philanthropy and Community Relations team.

Due to the need for social distancing and the restrictions the pandemic has placed on in-person gatherings, Pat was honored via a Zoom meeting on June 4th. Several of her colleagues attended to help recognize her accomplishments and pay tribute to her dedication. During the meeting Jane Pavek, Wells Fargo Community Development Manager, said, “Not only does Pat bring her heart to her work, she brings her mind. Pat has taught our entire Wells Fargo team so much about working in the community and maximizing impact.”
Thank you Pat for giving so much time and effort to helping others and believing that every person deserves a decent place to call home. Our mission is only possible with the help and support of people like you!
