ALBUQUERQUE, NM: Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is looking for low-income families that have a dream of owning their own homes. Families must be legal residents, have lived in Albuquerque, Valencia, and/or Sandoval county for one year, have steady employment, or social security or disability benefit income for a least 2 years. Applicants must be a first time homebuyer or have not owned a home during the last 3 years. They must pass a background check and not have a bankruptcy in the past 36 months.  Families must be able to pay a one-time down payment of $500 and contribute a minimum of 500 hours (sweat equity hours) of work building their house and the houses for other Habitat families.

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. For almost 26 years, Habitat for Humanity has worked in partnership with people in need to build affordable housing.
