APPLICANTS NEEDED: FIRST TIME LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS
ALBUQUERQUE, NM: Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is looking for low-income families that have a dream of owning their own homes. Families must be legal residents, have lived in Albuquerque, Valencia, and/or Sandoval county for one year, have steady employment, or social security or disability benefit income for a least 2 years. Applicants must be a first time homebuyer or have not owned a home during the last 3 years. They must pass a background check and not have a bankruptcy in the past 36 months. Families must be able to pay a one-time down payment of $500 and contribute a minimum of 500 hours (sweat equity hours) of work building their house and the houses for other Habitat families.
Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. For almost 26 years, Habitat for Humanity has worked in partnership with people in need to build affordable housing. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Mission: Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity builds community one home, one family at a time by making it possible for low-income families to own simple, decent, affordable homes.
